Windows 98SE: Problems Logging Off

At work I have a Windows 98SE computer. Whenever I try to log off, it gives me an illegal operation, saying that Explorer caused an invalid page fault in <unknown>. I've tried copying explorer.exe from another computer onto this one, but that doesn't work. What can I do to fix it?

try something as simple as running scan disk in dos mode before you do anything else. It might simply be that explorer is trying to read from a bad sector, which in turn is causing it to have the page fault.

Try it and let us know how it goes!
