hey guys so i finally installed windows 7 . now i had to install the x64 version because i have a 4gb ram and i wanted it to be fully utilized . but if you look at the pic below only 3.24 of my ram is being utilzed instead of 4gb



isnt all of the 4gb supposed to be utilized instead of 3.24 . well thats what i heard . .

secondly i installed x64 version so why in windows explorer its showing me x86


last but not the least my friend has vista. he wants to upgrage to windows 7. i hav the windows 7 but it clearly says a fresh installation is required otherwise it will ask for the key . so how do i upgrage from vista to win 7 and yet keep his stuff.. thanks .

Could be that your onboard graphics id using the "Lost Ram".

The Program files (x86) is for those programs that are 32 bit.

If the Vista machine is 32 bit it can be upgraded to 32 bit win7.
