This is a somewhat strange and intermediate issue. Around 50% of the time i right click anything, I get an" Windows Explorer has stopped unexpectedly and needs to close" error. and explorer closes then reopens and is fine. not a horrible thing but really annoying. Its windows 7 x64

That is caused by a bad context menu entry installed by some program that you installed. Check the programs that you installed just before the problem started. See if you can turn off the context menu entry in their options. If not, try uninstalling the program.

For some programs, there is a specific dll in the program folder that can be unregistered to remove the context menu entry.

A utility like FileMenu Tools can help by identifying all the current entries.
