Windows 10 Boot Disk

I have a friend who asked me to fix her computer. She has an old Desktop computer that's running Windows 10. It's running really slow so it needs to be wiped and have a fresh instillation of Windows 10. I was going to install Windows 10 using a flash drive but her computer doesn't support it. So I have to use a DVD. The problem I'm having is I downloaded Windows 10 from this site https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 when I burned the software to a blank DVD I went to boot it on an old laptop and it doesn't work. I'm used to it asking all the options that was on a Windows 7 installation disk. That's the last time I installed a new OS on a computer. So I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to do.

What doesn't work? It doesn't boot? It boots but does nothing thereafter? It tries to install, but fails?

When I boot it just says media check failure. I guess you could say it tries to install, but fails
How did you burn ? Did you use the Burn ISO option? Because if you use Video disc or Data Disc, that will not be detected as a bootable medium.
Insert this DVD in working Windows. Let us know what the DVD drive says in My Computer / This PC.

What's the Burn ISO option? Because I used a third party software.

The DVD is listed as drive D

Which software ? Can I see the interface ?

I think we have our problem spotted. It should denote something about Windows in the label. Something like ESD_USB or similar.
If you are using Windows 10, right click on the ISO image you downloaded and use the " Burn Disc Image " option. Of course, you will need a suitable blank DVD in the DVD RW device.

The software is called PowerISO.

If you are using Windows 10, right click on the ISO image you downloaded and use the " Burn Disc Image " option. Of course, you will need a suitable blank DVD in the DVD RW device.
When I try to use the " Burn Disc Image " option it keeps telling me it can't read the disk in the drive. It keeps happening every time I put a new disk in they all can't be bad.
Can you post a screenshot of PowerISO interface

What is the size of the empty DVD you are using ?

What is the size of Windows 10 ISO ?

Did you try the Burn option in the screenshot ?
Did you download the Media Creation Tool? That's what you need. It is an executable program. Run it and select the option to install on another computer, then select DVD (if you cannot use a USB flashdrive). That will create a bootable disk. You don't need third-party software of any kind.

Yes I downloaded the Media Creation Tool which installs a ISO of Windows 10 on your computer but you still have to burn it to a DVD.

I went through the options on the Media Creation Tool when you run the program. It asks if you want to create installation media (USB, DVD, ISO) for another PC. Then asks if you want to create an ISO file to burn to a DVD later. So I am doing it right.
It asks if you want to create installation media (USB, DVD, ISO) for another PC.
This is the option you want. It will then offer to create the USB, DVD or ISO. Select DVD, not ISO. That should make a bootable disk.

It doesn't ask if you want to make a DVD. Only USB and ISO. I wish I was making this up.
This is what I get:
