Window Explorer Error. Followed by Dr Watson Error

Not sure if this is where to ask about this or what to say, but here goes.

Operating System :

XP SP3

The problem :

When I right click a folder on my desktop or on 'c' drive I don't get any options, instead I get an error message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". As with these error messages it offers to send a report to Gatesy's mob, but I usual decline. I sure you have read heaps of threads with this similar problem and true to form, I then get another error window with regards to "Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger" and the system hangs. The only way to un-hang is usually to kill the process "Dr Watson".

So after a small minor fit where my desktop icons disappear for a short moment, we try to delete a folder(which incidentally is empty) the other way. Left click to highlight folder and then hit delete key. This resulted in the same errors as above.

How Is the problem going? :

Good question. Like many other posters here I have tried many cleaning and checking programs, which have resulted in a grand total of NO progress. Still Exactly the same .
