Hi,
I recently got fed up with my WinME computer, and it got fed up with me
To make a long story short, I had to format completely without pulling off drivers and such beforehand.
I formatted then did a clean install of Win98SE. I then downloaded necessary drivers from a second computer, burned to CD and installed on my freshly formatted computer. Everything worked, with one exception.
I can't get online. My NIC is an OVISLINK Fast Ethernet Adapter v1.1 and I've downloaded the most up-to-date drivers for this and installed them. Control Panels->Networking shows the adapter properly installed, bound to TCP/IP also correctly installed, everything set to automatically detect -- I can't find any incorrect settings.
IPCONFIG shows the ethernet adapter as well, but it won't renew or even give a self assigned IP; it remains at 0.0.0.0
Any ideas, please?
