Hi all.

When I try to boot my computer after it has been off over night, I get an error saying I need to insert the system boot disk.
I shut down and restart and everything is ok.
This is consistent. Works that way every time.

If I put my computer in standby over night, on waking up I get "Kernel Stack Inpage Error".
Shut down, reboot and works fine.
That is also consistent.

No viruses or adware detected.
Any clues where to start looking?

Thanks.

This error usually points to a hardware problem, in your case it may be your Hard Drive.

Try a scan disk and see if any errors are detected, To find scan disk, follow the steps below.

Open My Computer, Right-click the drive, Properties, Tools,Select Check Now, Select Options, Start.
You may be prompted to restart Windows before it will run.

Are you experiencing any other errors ?

OK. Tried the scandisk.
Still does the same thing.
No other errors.

I did a standby for an hour and it came back on just fine.
It only seems to have this malfunction if it's in standby for several hours. Overnight.

Spent 8 hours reloading my entire computer over the weekend. It still pukes.

When resuming from standby over night, I get "Kernel Stack Inpage Error". Have to restart. Power off, power on-everything works OK.

If I shut the power down over night, on power up I get "System Disk Boot Failure". Again, power off, power on-everything works OK.

Now I'm thinking something in the power supply? The BIOS?
Any thing anyone else can think of?
I've never run into this sort of thing before.

chkdsk finds no problems. No virus or spyware detected.
