hello,,,i have a win 98se disk that came with my old computer and a friend of mine has a computer with windows 95,,,,,,can i use my disk to upgrade my friends computer to win98se or does it take a special disk for that type of upgrade?

Technically yes, legally no. The only way your friend can have Windows 98SE is that your friend has a Windows 98SE key. And since you already have Windows 98SE installed, your friend cannot use your key. If on the other hand you do not have Windows 98SE installed anymore, then you can give your friend the ownership of that key and then you can install Windows 98SE on their computer.

Cost about $40-$80. But they will get the CD too. Actually I think the upgrade is less than that. Only problem is to find a vendor with them now since Win 98SE is obsolete
