Hey guys,

Here is my prob.....i built a comp using an MSI K7 motherboard, AMD 1600 chip and 256 meg of ram running win98se. Computer has been working fine for about 8 months then last night I try to boot it up and it makes it to the logon box then nothing but a blue screen. I have tried booting with startup disk and into safe mode.....all to no avail. Is there anything I can do short of wiping the install and starting over from scratch? Also, when I try to boot in safe mode it comes up with safe mode in all four corners but nothing else. Alt-Ctrl-Del show no processes running. HELP. Thanks in advance

Hi,

Boot with a Windows 98 SE boot disk, http://www.bootdisk.com if you don't have one. Run the downloaded file to create the disk.

Boot from the disk and at the a:> prompt type "scanreg /restore" There is a space between the g & /

Choose the oldest of the five datea from the five offered and accept the reboot option.

Remove floopy diisk and reboot
