Aloha,
When I booted up my computer, it ran scandisk and found 2 bad sectors. Now it will not boot up to windows but will in safe mode so something must be missing or corrupted. I ran Maxtors PowerMax to check the hdd and it found some errors and it corrected it and it says the hdd is now good. I tried to boot using the step by step and it hangs at msmouse.vxd and after a while it will go to a blank screen. I tried (no) at msmouse.vxd and it still hangs a while and then goes to a blank screen. What comes after msmouse.vxd?? Whatever was on the two bad sectors must be causing this. Is there someplace that shows all the steps in the boot sequence and what should come after msmouse.vxd?? What else can I do??? All suggestions and replies will be greatly appreciated. TIA

Mahalo,

Hello:

You can try a file restore in Safe Mode. Check out my illustrated

System File Checker

Make sure you enter msmouse.vxd when asked what file you wish to extract.
