My windows 2000 SP 4 machine will not shutdown or restart completely. It goes to a blank screen but never shuts completely down. I have ghosted the system twice but after I reload everything back on it starts the same problem. I have already checked for updated drivers and they are all updated.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is such a pain to have to shutdown and then hold the power button down until it completely shuts down.

See if you can shut or restart the system properly from safe mode.

It is possible that you may have a bad image since you ghosted the system twice. You may want to consider to clean install windows from the original cd not from an image.

Also where you ever able to shut the system properly. If yes what changed ?
