Where's the email folders Outlook 2003, Win XP

I think I'm going to have to reformat a friends computer, think a worm got in and now I can't get past the desk top, no icons, no task bar nothing to click on, zip. Tried to do a repair install of Win XP twice but it hangs up at 33 minutes remaining for an hour, think I'm hooped ...

Before I reformat I want to remove his hard drive, install it into my computer and back up any ofhis files files like favorites (which I found), my docs and his emails which I can't find anywhere.
Favorites are at C:\Documentsandsettings\administrator\favorites, I've found the desktop etc, but where the hell are those Outlook email folders¿

Thanks
Will

If you look in the configuration for Outlook

Start / Settings / Control Panel / Mail
Cick on the Data Fles button and you will see the location.

Personally I like to put this in a common location, like My Documents. This makes it much easier to backup or restore.
I knew someone would know EXACTLY where to look! :D

Thanks Bob, since both mine and his are in the default locations I should be able to find them now. Sure buried aren't they¿

You're right, my documents/email seem a whole lot easier, especially if you put my docs on another drive incase you ever need to reformat or things crash.

thanks
Will
Do a search for .pst files for the outlook files. There may be more than one. BTW, happy birthday ! :D
With OutlookXP and Outlook2003 you can now look directly for the exact location of the Data file for each profile. This way you don't have search and possibly use the wrong one.
Okay, how do I change the default setting to store the files on his D drive? I don't see any way of doing it.

Thanks
Will
I have the instructions with screen shots at:

http://www.onecomputerguy.com/app_info/outlook_xp.htm

You might have to scroll down a bit since you already have the beginning part done.
Bob that is a very nice set of instructions. Nicely written ;)

I like the new image map too, but I was disappointed to learn that we couldn't click on your name to be brought back to the home page of the site. Other than that everything is very nicely done
Glad the page helped and I'll fix the problem with getting back to the home page. It is supposed to work.
