 okay, so one day I turn on my computer and all the true type fonts in my c:\windows\fonts file were gone. When I 'find file' for .ttf's they show up as in that file. But I can't see them in the folder. I also can't add anymore fonts to that folder. How can I correct this?

If your 'add new font' option has disappeared from 'File', it most likely means your Fonts folder has lost its System attribute.

At a MS-DOS prompt, type the following lines, each line followed by clicking 'enter':

attrib +s c:\window\fonts
exit
or win (to return to Windows)

Make sure the path to the fonts folder is correct for your machine and reboot when you're finished.

Good luck,

I may be a little rusty on dos but i didn't think this rusty.

ms prompt comes up in c:\windows>
I typed attrib +s c:\windows\fonts (which is the correct path
for my machine) <enter>
but it tells me there no path found.
I've several other variations but got the same thing.

Am I doing something wrong?

thanks from the monkeez =)
