Heres the 411. my friend bough a 120G harddrive. hes not much of a computer guy and would probably be to scared to even open up his pc. so i pluged it on, wen u re-boot a screen comes up with something like Disk1: 40G, Disk2: 120G, Slot1:Dvd, Slot2:Cd-r and then to press enter to save changes. i press enter. but wen u go to My Computer it aint there. but if you RightClick C: > Properties > Hardware. u can clearlly see that there's another harddrive on there. The harddrive didnt come with any software and he's running on Windoze XP. wat can i do?

Whats happening is if you don't have a valid partition windows cannot recognise the drive.
You need a floppy boot disk, from a: prompt type fdisk and enter fdisk program will run. From here choose large disk support, switch fixed drives, should be drive 2 (option 4 or 5).
Then you create a partition on the drive, reboot and windows will recognise the drive, remember to format drive before storing information on it.
If its XP it best to use Disk Management to format the drive. Go to the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools - > Disk Management. Select the drive and format it.
