wondering if anyone can tell me what has happened to my data?? I installed a guestbook perl script (guestbook.pl) and the associated html files on a site. Everything functions fine.

I made the mistake of adding a line of text to the guestbook.html file thanking people for their comments, after several comments had already been placed on this page. When I uploaded the new guestbook.html and refreshed my browser all the comments were gone.

Can I somehow retrieve these? Where would this normally be saved?

The site is for news of a sick person and the family really would like those comments back.

there will be some wrong coding in your guest book absolutely.

Usually all the guest book comments are stored in some separate SQL database. So your data, I guess, is safe. Restore your original HTML file and check out.

I did restore the origonal html file and it is still missing.

Is there a way to view the SQL database??

Sent a message to the developer but no response has been forthcoming.
