Nothing you left for me fixed my problem. When I try to play a sound in 'Sounds and Audio Devices' it says it cannot do it because I no longer have audio compression. How do I get compression back so I can hear things again? I really liked the sites you sent and I marked them in favs cause I know I will be going to them again....and again...and again.

The only thing in device mgr with a yellow question mark is my printer but it is working fine. I have gotten the message that I did not have audio compression. How I lost it I dont know....how to get it back I know even less. Any other suggestions? Maybe how to retrieve audio compression?

I followed your hyperlink and scrolled down to 'Adding all default codecs' but I guess I am not smart enuf to follow the instructions. It says to go to 'Add/Remove Programs' and then go to the 'Windows Setup' tab. Well, I have looked and looked and cant seem to find a 'Windows Setup' tab under 'Add/ Remove Programs'.
