when i start windows 95 all that happened was a flashing bar

i share a computer with someone and when i tried to logon to my computer.when i turned it on i noticed alot of info then it said starting windows 95 and all that happened was a flashing bar in the upper left hand side of the screen and my monitors power light turned from geen to amber. anybody know the problem??

Can you start in safe mode? To do that keep tapping the f8 key as soon as the computer begins booting. Select safe mode from the boot menu.
