I asked this question before, but no replies. Is what I'm experiencing normal?

I have a problem with the "My computer window"on my machine. When I click on it it takes 25 - 30 seconds to populate. The flashlight appears right away. It's the only window that seems to do this. If I click on the up arrow it will show that screen instantly. This only happens with the my computer shortcut. I don't think I've installed anything new since it started. I have uninstalled Norton and reinstalled it.

I am running a dell precision workstation 490 w/3.0 ghz Xeon Dual Core,4meg mem,nvidia quatro fx 3450/4000 sdi,36gb sas drive,XP Pro w/sp2

Prevent Delay Opening My Computer/Explorer

This just happens on the My Computer Window. But I do recall when using Excel and I go to open a file there is also a long delay
