What is causing GPU Instability?

Hey guys I'm new and decided to check it out when google and reddit had failed me.
I'm Running a
  • AMD380X
  • i5-4670
  • 8GB of ram
  • 600watt evga PSU
  • windows 7(Problem Persists on Windows 10)and on fresh installs.
  • I am on a 1366x768 monitor with vga only (I am using a converter to DVI from VGA) Two fans one in taking and one exhaust with the latest drivers and clean installed using DDU before installing updated drivers..

That was my setup and now my issue. I play the witcher 3 and A modded skyrim but within the range of what my gpu can output at the resolution. And I get crashes even afer a Dx9-11 reinstall. With 10 to 15 mintues of playtime I get a crash, Artifacting or a BSOD. Now when I tried trouble shooting I ran Furmark and Prime95 for an hour and nothing came up but when I run the witcher I crash. My CPU reaches 65C and Gpu reaches 68C. Witcher 3 is non modded and skyrim was ran with SKSE a 2k Texture pack and a ENB, I have no issues with NBA 2k17.
I am running no OC yet it still happens. Thanks for reading this and any help.

SemiBump Also lemme know if I am missing any info.
Sounds like may be a power issue. Whats the model of your EVGA PSU? I think that card has a 500 Watts MINIMUM requirement. So if you have a low end/cheap model psu could be the issue.

Sounds like your temps are kind of high as well. do you have adequate cooling? How big is the case? Which case is it? How many fans? Are they oriented properly? What kind of cooler on the cpu?

This is my psu, and according to Tom's Hardware and AnandTech The temps are suitable.

It is a Corsair 100r witch two fans. and i used the arrows on the fans to orientate then used single ply tissue to see if it was intake and not another exhaust. Also Stock Intel Cooler, reapplied thermal paste recently.

Well according to Intel's webpage, your Tcase spec is 72.72c so if ur hitting 65 you may be dealing with a throttling issue.

And if ur playing games on a STOCK cooler, you're just asking for issues.

If you plan to play games you NEED an aftermarket cooler to keep the temps on check. I play battlefield 4 on ULTRA settings in 1080p and have no issues and with my AFTERMARKET hyper 212 Evo HSF, I have temps hit 57-64 but that's on max load, in game.

And I have a WAY better fan. First thing about a gaming rig is NEVER use a stock cooler.

I would try swapping out the cooler with one that mkves a LOT more CFM's than the stock one and then see where ur temps are.

Also are you using quality thermal paste? I only use and recommend AS5 as I have never had any issues for it even on air oc'ing.
My CPu never hits or goes near the throttle limit of 95c on Intel processors. i will Look into an aftermarket cooler
Where did you see this chip has a temp of 95c??? That is WAY to hot. If ur chip ever reached that it would essentially "fry" itself.

Check your voltages as well. See what your getting for Vcore.

If your voltages aren't right temps could be higher than normal.

Most Intel chips have a max limit of about 70-75C.

Make sure you get your information DIRECT from Intel so u can make sure your getting correct info.

I can tell u however based on my past 15+ years in the pc industry....your temps in that range are way to high.

My CPU never goes past 65 on full load, although that is a bit warm, Is it connected to my issues on the games? As even when playing it does not go to full load as I turn down lost settings as I prefer post processing vs texture size and such.
How new is the psu and gpu?

Have you tried a fresh install of the gpu drivers?
Both purchased within 3 months and I am using updated drivers on Windows.

Are you using the newest beta drivers? Have you tried reverting to an earlier driver ?
The latest stable drivers, not beta and no I haven't. I'll put that on my to do list as well.

Ok try that and remember when installing make sure to select the "clean install" option if it's available on the installer.

Post back if u still require help

No problem good luck
After Installing Older drivers, crashes went down My Temps went down a solid 10 degrees solid and that I was running Heaven and it crashed during the Benchmark at and when i did it again the driver stopped working and it had to be recovered by windows.
It actually sounds like may be a bad graphics card. You can either swap out the psu for a lil bit higher wattage one and see if it fixes it or , and id probably do this instead, have the gpu warrantied out
I'll work till I can get a 480

I'll also contact powercooler cause I find this ridiculous

Well tbh, power cooler has a reputation for poor QC on their products, just a FYI
