Hi,

Simular to Agoraphobia. But no panicking, passing out or anything like that involved. Just a pure dislike of the outdoors and perfers to stay indoors most of the time.

To be specific. In this generation, it would be a person who just sits his/her butt down in front of the computer.

All social activities is done through computer, talking/chatting, playing, learning, etc.

This person is very talkactive over the internet. But in real life, lacks interest in almost everything thrown at him/her.

Whenever someone calls him/her out, he/she would just make up some lame excuse not to go out.

Shopping is done like once or twice a month. Everything is stacked to last a month or so. Because this person just hates going out.

What are these people called?

Tech Support Guy Forumers?

(I can't believe I'm the first one to say it :D )

Although, I think most of us would ditch TSG for a beer or five.

No, just drunks. Alcoholics go to meetings....
Don't worry, it wasn't a hijack, it was a detour. :)

Well, I think Cyberian was initially looking for a phobia of some sort. But it's not that they're AFRAID of going oustide, they just don't want to. But it appears that agorophobia is pretty much what was described (italics are my emphasis):

In Greek, agoraphobia means "fear of the marketplace". Today, that fear usually involves situations such as being away from home, standing in a crowd, staying home alone, being on a bridge or traveling, however you get there. Though some people might think agoraphobics are simply eccentric, fear of going outside the home by definition can be seriously debilitating. If a person, for example, can't ride on public transportation, go into shopping malls, or enjoy any type of public entertainment outside the home, social interaction becomes extremely limited and the life lived sadly sterile.

But in related news, as I was looking up the names of phobias, I found a couple good ones:

Sesquipedalophobia- Fear of long words. :D
Apeirophobia- Fear of infinity.
Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.
Asymmetriphobia- Fear of asymmetrical things.
Aulophobia- Fear of flutes.

And that's just the A's. Maybe I'll find some more starting with other letters later! :)

Oooh here's one that IK has: Teleophobia. Heehee
And some on TSG may have Alektorophobia or Allodoxaphobia. :D

Most of these phobias that I'm finding, I can sort of understand or see, but some...I feel bad for the people who suffer from them because, well....they're kinda funny:

Cathisophobia- Fear of sitting.
Chronophobia- Fear of time.
Deipnophobia- Fear of dining or dinner conversations
Dendrophobia- Fear of trees
Dipsophobia- Fear of drinking (that would suck!)
Eisoptrophobia- Fear of mirrors or of seeing oneself in a mirror

And some more that some TSG'ers may suffer from:

Cainophobia or Cainotophobia- Fear of newness, novelty
Cherophobia- Fear of gaiety
Cyberphobia- Fear of computers or working on a computer :D
Decidophobia- Fear of making decisions
Dikephobia- Fear of justice
Eleutherophobia- Fear of freedom
Epistemophobia- Fear of knowledge
Ergophobia- Fear of work. :D

And NO ONE at TSG has this one:

Doxophobia- Fear of expressing opinions or of receiving praise

:D

PS ~ As you can see, I found that I could fault no one for having any of the B phobias. :)

No, not necessary looking for a phobia. Just a term that describes the person.

Phobia is not necessary fear, it can also be the dislike of something. You don't see any racists/xenophobes panicking and screaming out of their lungs then running away like a mad horse when they see a person of a different nationality.
