I'm afraid there's not much of an upgrade path for you. You cannot upgrade the CPU, you're limited to 8GB in total for RAM, and you wouldn't be able to do anything regarding the graphics adapter. You may be able to squeeze a little bit more from it by adding 4GB of RAM and, perhaps, swapping out the hard drive for a solid-state drive, but that's about it.

If this is the motherboard, then it gives upgrade options:

I think you can only add more memory.

Really appreciate the responses. Is there any point in adding 4 GB of Ram and getting an SSD? How much better will my PC get?
CPU is very critical. More RAM and SSD are good, but not game-changers. If your processor is not strong enough for 2021, it is wise to invest from there.

1. Close unused tabs
2. Uninstall unused programs
3. Clear Temporary files.

Consider an OS that uses fewer resources than MS Windows.

There are distributions of Linux that can do that.
But Linux is different than Windows and there is a learning curve that goes with it just as there was one when you first used MS Windows.
Linux is said to not be for everyone, but it works for me and I'm no Linux 'expert'.

I boot from a usb flash drive.
It's a 'Live' version of Linux that doesn't need a hard drive.

There are other versions of Live Linux distributions to choose from.
Xenialpup is my current choice and I use it exclusively for all my Internet related activities.

I'm posting from it now :)

A short list of Puppy that's currently available.

If you want to install a distribution of Linux on your hard drive, there are moderators and members at TSG more familiar with that than I am and can help.
