I just installed a new game after wiping my computer. The game freezes for 20 seconds at a time, almost every 2 minutes. I have a Pentium 4, 60gb free, no other programs running, 512 mb of ram, a nvidia geforce2 mx/mx 400 graphics card (with update) and a cable modem (through a linksys wireless router, BUT the computer im using is the host computer). Why am I lagging?

The game is called Priston Tale, and it says I meet all the standards

may be the game server if thats the only place you lag

I thought so too, but I asked others who were in the game with me, and they said they had no problem

i have a nvidia geforce2 mx/mx 400 with the driver updates...i dont think its the card, and i talked to other ppl who didnt have the same problem when i was playing..

Your card will only affect you, others won't see any changes. Anyway, try running the game single player and check with the game developer for patches or anything like that.

its the latest version, and there isnt any single player i have ruled out the router though it still lags when i have it directly hooked up

Okay try this: downgrade your drivers, drop a couple of versions back. That sometimes helps.

i just tried playing one of my older online games (infantry from sony station) which worked a couple of months ago, but its lagging every 2 minutes just like my new game! its not a problem with my new game i guess...PLZ HELP

Am wondering that maybe you've some spyware running in the back? Curiosuly, does this happen only with online games?

I dont have any other games other than online multiplayer... I think it might be the settings on the game, b/c when i uninstalled the new game, the old game stopped lagging (weird)...
