As far as I am concerned Adaware cannot be beaten its recognised worldwide as the flagship and millions of people use it ......

I've had Spyware Sweeper for a couple of years and it is a very good product. Until recently it has work well. The last update in version has caused a conflict but I've got a work around. Having said all that, I'm not at all sure it is better than the Ad-Aware-Spybot combo. I think I'd try the freeware first if I were you.

Spysweeper is good but it misses things that Adaware and Spybot catch but the opposite is also true. SpySweeper does have preventative measures that are better then that of Spybot and non-existent in the free Adaware. If you purchase Adaware it adds similar features. If you don't mind spending the money SpySweeper isn't a bad thing to do it on. Still wouldn't hurt to have Adaware and Spybot installed as backup. Microsoft's AntiSpyware program is something to watch and see how it developes and performs.

Webroot is part of Earthlink's package and is OK but never did what AA did

The trio is SpywareBlaster/AA/SpyBot S&D and another is SpywareGuard

A good AV and all checked for updates at least weekly
