Web Meeting disconnects even though internet is connected

Hi, I experience this problem while using Google Meeting. It happens while using MS teams too. Although I use Google Meeting more often.
During the meeting, the audio pauses or meeting disconnects. The audio comes back after couple of seconds or auto reconnect happens.
This happens at a regular frequency. Audio / meeting ---> Pause/ meeting disconnects ---> Audio resumes/meeting reconnects ---> Pause/ Disconnects and the cycle continues.
My web browser is working perfectly and I can access any internet site and YouTube without having problems.
It was only when I use start web meetings, I experience this problem.

I would like to ask how can I resolve my web meeting disconnection problem

Here are the fix that I tried:
1. Reset the Wifi and still it doesn't work.
2. Restart my laptop and tried connecting again in Wifi
3. Use a different browser. I normally use Brave. Also tried in Google chrome

I'm using Windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop and all system and devices are currently updated. I use 200 Mbps internet WiFi connection so I don't think internet speed is a issue.

Hope that you can help me with this concern. Thank you!

Please provide as below
Please click the link below for your operating system to download the TSG SysInfo Utility. Click on "Save File" then double-click the file to run it. Copy and paste the report in your initial post. Windows 7 and later (downloads a file named tsginfo.exe)

and
please include a link to YOUR system on the Lenovo site

amd detail please the spec of the wireless adpater in use especially if it is not the standard adapter include din the laptop

Also please may I point out that this
I use 200 Mbps internet WiFi connection so I don't think internet speed is a issue.
if it refers to your possible ISP speed is what you may get if your wireless adapter allows such.

How do you know your Wi-Fi is 200 Mbps? Have you tested it? You can test the speed using the Speedtest app. Search for "Speedtest by Ookla" in the Microsoft Store.

BTW, Internet providers only give the maximum download speed. Your actual speed varies and will be lower during certain times of the day.

Hello everyone. Thank you for your replies.

Firstly, I want to convey that I do not think it is a internet connection issue because, the problem occurs even I connect at various places. Eg - work, home, friend's connection or another network.

Secondly, speedbit.net shows internet speed in the range of 180 - 190 Mbps. I get download speed over 12 Mbps. Yesterday I downloaded a file 6 GB in less than 10 mins. So speed is good.

The problem is as if my internet sleeps in between. Eg - During Web Meeting or I play a game on internet the game, the meeting or the game pauses / disconnects in between. If I quickly play youtube, in parallel, youtube website will take few seconds to load (couple of seconds longer than usual) and as the website loads so does the meeting and game comes back to life. (I play game extremely rare. It is just an example to explain the problem. Mostly problem is during web meeting).

Anyways, @Macboatmaster , here is the result of the utility

You have totally insufficient free space on all allocated letter drives
Whether they are ONE physical drive allocated C, D and G
or separate drives is not at this time important
what is important is that C drive and G drive cannot function correctly with such severely limited free space

D drive MAY be a recovery drive/partition so thatg is if it is such not so important

So you mean, If I free up space on the drives this problem will stop occurring ?

G drive is my personal account. It has no relation to my web meetings as the web meetings are from a different account. Does this affect too ?

Only doing so will prove it one way or the other
What is certain is - running with that small amount of free space is not correct and a possible way to problems
I am surprised you have not seen a warning of lack of free space on C drive particularly

I would like to apologize for missing that you stated you had a 200Mbps connection. I should have realize you would have a better connection by now :(

For reference, you have a Flex 6-14ARR Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 81HA that was build in December 2018. No warranty

Since this issue is happening elsewhere, then we would want to focus on the computer. While I haven't experienced issues with video meetings and low hard drive space, I would also agree that your computer most likely will be running suboptimal. From the specs that I see, your computer has a 256GB drive, which would make sense of C and D drives space. I am assuming the G drive is a second physical drive?

"The problem is as if my internet sleeps in between. Eg - During Web Meeting or I play a game on internet the game, the meeting or the game pauses / disconnects in between"

It sounds like you may have a sleep setting on there. I could not tell if you have an intel wireless, but the directions should be the same to uncheck the Allow computer to turn off wireless:

.

If that doesn't work, then I would suggest downloading the Wireless Driver (link is direct from Lenovo) for your machine, then in Device Manager, right click on the wireless connection under Network and tell it to uninstall, as well as the option to remove the drivers.

After that, run the wireless driver you just downloaded, install the driver and then reboot to test.

You have Avira installed and that includes Phantom vpn
Are you using such on google meeting and MS Teams

If so that is likely to be the cause of the problem

On a different note I do not know how long you only had 2GB of free space on C drive, but I am surprised that windows 10 would even run updates with such a small percentage of free space.

Yes as I said are you using the AVIRA Phantom VPN
You have Avira installed and that includes Phantom vpn
Are you using such on google meeting and MS Teams
if so and the web meeting is NOT now OK
then connect without the VPN

Hello Macboatmaster, I have been testing my web meeting since past couple of days after creating space in the hard drive. I have little over 11 GB free now.
- The pauses in the web meeting have drastically reduced. But still coming

Can you suggest any other solution ?

What do you mean by connect without VPN ? I dont use Avira VPN.

Re

I asked
You have Avira installed and that includes Phantom vpn
Are you using such on google meeting and MS Teams

If so that is likely to be the cause of the problem
and I then said
Yes as I said are you using the AVIRA Phantom VPN
if so and the web meeting is NOT now OK
then connect without the VPN
so my question was ARE YOU USING the VPN
the connect without it was therefore only of course if you were using it

Is AVIRA the paid for version or the free version

#21 ·
1. In that case I recommend you uninstall it
I cannot say it wil solve it, but even if it does not you will be far better with the included windows security and Microsoft Defender
It is free and is I can assure you definitely preferable to AVIRA FREE edition, which does not offer the protection that windows security does.

2. Use this procedure
Uninstallation of Avira for Windows – Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira

3. CAUTION - Although I can assure you 100% you will be better with windows security and the included Defender and the uninstallation of Avira may just solve the problem of the Google meting and MS Teams apparent drop-out - I need to warn you that many people have experienced problems uninstalling AVIRA,
It is one of the few anti viruses that does not offer a free uninstall tool for when the normal procedure outlined on the link does not work.

4. Regarding the problem of the drop outs if the uninstall of Avira does not solve it OR you do not wish to even try that - then
Usually in a situation like this I would suggest you connect hard wired to the router to test, although your computer does not have an ethernet port, you can usually do this via usb-c HOWEVER Lenovo have not even put a ethernet adapter card/chip in that laptop so that course of action is a not possible.

5. My only other suggestion IF as I said you do not wish to try the uninstall
Download Avira for Free
turning off as much as Avira allows you to do so, referring to the images on the link above and then RETEST the Web Meeting chats for disconnect.
It could JUST BE that Avira scans and all the checks it makes are the cuase of the problem

@Macboatmaster
Hello, sorry for late reply.

I would like to thank you for your solutions. Problem has significantly gone down.

I did the following :-
1. Cleared the C drive to have over 18 to 20 GB free. Pause Avira.

The issue of web meetings hanging have significantly gone down.

But 2 out 10 times, I am still facing the issue.

Is there any other steps to be carried out ?

Is there any other steps to be carried out ?
No not that I know of trying to sort a problem that occurs 2 out of 10 is far harder than sorting a problem that is there all the time
That of course applies not only to computers but to most problems.

My only recommendation is to see what is running on task manager when the problem occurs.
My favourite is still AVIRA even although you have paused what you can.

We can I think as you said discount connection hitches as
Firstly, I want to convey that I do not think it is a internet connection issue because, the problem occurs even I connect at various places. Eg - work, home, friend's connection or another network.

Leave task manager minimized on the taskbar
when the problem occurs open task manager and click the CPU and Memory columns on processes tab so that the arrow which appears to the left is pointing downwards
you will then see in descending order which process is using most

If it is by chance an avira scan you have the answer
It is not the fact you have 109 it is a questrion of which is heavily using resources

re you question
Shall I try uninstalling Avira?
as I said as oon as you revealed it was the free version

1. In that case I recommend you uninstall it
I cannot say it wil solve it, but even if it does not you will be far better with the included windows security and Microsoft Defender

I did this. Avira does not appear in the list.

Google chrome is appearing - 4 - 5% CPU ; 752 MB Memory.
Just to tell you, I have only 5 tabs open Google Chrome.

Others are Google drive. Lenevo Yoga mode Control.

Lenevo Yoga control memory usage is below 50 MB. However CPU usage fluctuates between 0 to 7.5%
