I'm sure people here know that Western Digital had a security breach on their servers. They have shut down access for users that use mobile and web access for our cloud. I've tried to get help from the WD community forum about accessing my cloud from my local home network, but haven't gotten it. I've disabled my mobile and web access from my cloud. Windows Explorer sees the cloud unit but won't let me log into it.
I'm sure I've left out some information about what I've done and tried, but if someone has ideas I would appreciate them.
Thanks for the help.
Danny

I kinda remember dealing with this issue many moons ago when I got my MyCloud device. I've since replaced it with a real NAS, but I did have it working for some time. I used it primarily as a media server, and it performed that job fairly well.

For some reason, I'm thinking it may have had something to do with SMB, and which version I was using and which were denied. I had to delve back into that when I got rid of the MyCloud and installed the NAS.

Peter.... Thanks for the reply and help. My conceived problem is multi-fold, I think.
1) everything I see and read from WD support pages all have instructions for the My Cloud Home, which I am not. My unit is a single bay drive named My Cloud.
2) When I try to connect to my unit, I can see in Windows Explorer, it asks for my log in user name and password. I get an error that it is not accessible and I don't have permission.
3) I can login to my dashboard and see my shares and stuff.

I don't know how long WD is going to take to bring the servers back online. They've been off since about April 6-7.
Thanks again
Danny

Let's try credential manager
Click on start
Type in control panel
Go to Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials, and click Add a Windows credential
Type the username and password you use for My Cloud in the following window and click Save.
Restart the computer and test.
Since you can see it in explorer we will assume that SMB is ok.
