Hi,
I am using windows xp sp2,. recently this problem has occured , that icon of volume does not appear in taskbar in first place.
I go to control panel /sounds and other devices/ and uncheck the "place volume icon in taskbar", Then log of of restart , go to control panel ,,,,,,,,,,,,check the box" place icon in the taskbar" , and volume icon appears.
It seems that some thing stoping volume icon to appear on startup,
I ran SFC , no difference .
what may be the problem and how to solve it.

may sound dumb ..............but ensure mute is not checked - it's happened to one or two experienced users before !!!!!!!

Nothing worked,
I tried some hours on pc,
result is that antivirus active sheild is stoping ,the Icon to appear,
if I disable antivirus to load automatically, the volume icon loads properly,
what experts say?????????
