I am learning to code in the .NET world and am using the above application from Microsoft. I have to incorporate web services in some development and wondered if anyone can recomend any good books or tutorials on the subject? I've spent a few hours looking at various white papers, but they all assume too much for the beginner.

I'm an engineer, and have worked with Perl and html extensively.
