I loaded vista ultimate on my system with no problem and I was adding some other software to the system. I notice that I the system was asking for some virus Protectioni software so i loaded it in and when the system rebooted it said there was an error. the system can not boot it will not come up in safe mode. It ask for a reboot disk I do not have one. how do i get a reboot disk? can I use the upgrade cd to reboot?:eek:

Boot from the medium you used to install Vista and run the repair or choose a restore point. How did you install it?

It's important when installing software that uses drivers to check that it is Vista-compatible.

AVG is now Vista-ready. You should look for one that says it works specifically on Vista since AV is a driver-level component and can cause havoc if it interferes with something else. (Preaching to the choir?)

Glad you got it back. What did you do that might be helpful to others?

I know AVG works because I use it. Guessing is of little help in tech support.
