I finally managed to wrench the computer away from my boyfriend and I have noticed quite a few problems with the way it is running. First of all, there is quite a bit of "lag" or a delay that I am noticing when I open a folder on the desktop. I will double-click on something but it won't open until like a minute later, including Microsoft Internet Explorer. I'm forced to use this obnoxious Yahoo! browser to get anything done. I have already ran AdAware and quarantined all the junk it found. Next, I ran the Trend Micro HouseCall free scan, and it found a Trojan virus called Mendwar.a and a Backdoor virus called Sandbox.a. I deleted those and ran the Symantec online virus scan and it says my computer is clean now. Here's my HijackThis log after all that...

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Delete these files
NONE

and Delete these folders
C:\Program Files\ToPicks

then
Reboot normally &
then run lspfix
you will see a list of files in the left hand pane and possibly some in the right hand pane. first tick the"I know what i'm doing" box &
then select any instances of osmim.dll that are in the left hand "keep"panel and only that file, nothing else, move them to the right hand "remove" panel press finish and the program will do anything necessary
