Virus Removal

My Nortons Anti-virus programme has quarantined a virus. Its called [email protected] and the file name is Setup.exe. It cannot be repaired, so is it ok to delete it from Quarantine, or will this affect the workings of the computer - that is, will just the virus be deleted, or the whole file? What is the best thing to do? I'm worried if I delete it, I won't be able to use the computer. My Operating System is Win98SE.
Thankyou.

Hi Koala3

Welcome to TSG! :)

If the file is in quarantine it is harmless. Not only is it harmless, but if it is quarantined and it is a file needed to run anything on your computer you should be able to tell that pretty quickly because it cannot perform any kind of function when it is quarantined. I doubt if it is a necessary file and you can probably delete it from quarantine without worry.
