I have three of these 1gb tablets. They are totally useless with Windows 10.

Is there a guide to delete windows 10 and install XP (I have several XP licenses)?
Particularly for the following:
  • XP drivers for this tablet
  • How to shut down and re-start / boot from USB

Thanks for any guidance

I have so many questions about this tablet, like why did they think 1GB RAM is enough for Windows 10... maybe it's an IoT version of Windows 10?

Anyhow, there doesn't appear to install XP on this machine, and even if you could there will be no Windows XP drivers. This machine seems to be pretty locked down as I don't see a way to get into the boot menu (unless you have a manual?)

These tablets, especially from no-name vendors are really cheap products that are not worth their money.... when you don't at least 4GB RAM and 64GB HDD, then as they are useless as Windows 10 on its own uses most if not all of the storage space and not enough left for anything else

You may be able to get away with Linux instead, but you may need additional hardware:

To answer your 1st question. “I” did not think 1gb, was enough for windows 10. It was for my needs: RDP using browser and one very small application which ran run 24/7 for a specific task. At £49 it worked well, hence I bought 2 x more. Each running 24/7

it was Microsoft that thought it would be a good idea in the May 2019 update to nearly double the disk space needed, hence giving a death notice to these tablets.

Thanks for your additional advice on other things that might and might not work

I would be happy to use Linux, it I knew it would work.

Considering @Couriant’s comment. Perhaps a better solution would be to install windows 8.1 and get new keys.

The first version of this tablet came with 8.1.

Thus my original questions still apply (modified for 8.1)
Is there a guide to delete windows 10 and install 8.1 (I can get 8.1 licenses)?
Particularly for the following:
  • 8.1 drivers for this tablet
  • How to shut down and re-start / boot from USB

Can you get the 8.1 license? No, Microsoft does not have these available.

I found this webpage that looks like you will need to use a USB Keyboard to access the BIOS, as well how to install an OS. It looks like you may also need 32bit OS.

I would think using a USB keyboard to get to the boot menu as well instead of using the power/volume method.
