Video/color problem???? HELP Please

Ok I will try to explain as best possible but dont know that much about computers.
I am working with a older Compaq Presario and running Windows 98. We were having some problems with the computer running real slow and locking up all the time. I went and deleted alot of stuff we didnt need (I thought?) and now my color on the monitor is messed up bad. The only options I am getting is 16 colors. I ran a system checker and the only file that came back missing or changed was MSISYS.VXD? I couldnt restore it from the rebot disc like a friend had mentioned. With the color messed up so bad I cant view alot of things, mainly pictures and my Microsoft Money isnt viewable either.
I am not sure if this has something to do with the same problem mentioned above but also when I hit on certain things a box pops up that says "failed to create objDM"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Just be patient with me, I will warn you--I am slow!

Hi and welcome.

Do you have the driver cd that came with your computer? I'm not sure if Compaq puts the drivers on the restore cd or not....if not, you can visit the Compaq website, key in your model number and it should tell you which driver you need to download....I'm assuming it's a desktop.......
