Now doing an upgraded system soon and that's a new MOBO an Vid card which will be a ATI Radeon X1300 PCI-E.

Okay here's the question do I plug in my LCD monitor in the video card itself to play any games and so on instead of whatever it may have for a stock video ? My reason for asking this is cause well it'll be the first PC I'll have that'll have a video card an not some stock MOBO with the card integrated within the board.

It will be the same as your onboard hookup...with a few more connections on it.

So it wouldn't matter at all whether I plugged in my LCD monitor to either the onboard video VGA slot or the VGA slot on the card itself?

Yes it would....you have to disable the onboard Video Card for the other one to work....you can't have both working.

How exactly would I disable the onboard? Just so that I know when I do get the system in my possesion that I can do it.

You put the new V card in and install the drivers for it and then reboot the PC....it may even disable the onboard automatically......

Check in Device Manager and see under display adapters and see that the new card is mentioned.


If you have problems there maybe a option in Bios to disable the onboard V card.
