Hi I am looking to buy a good vid card. I think my vid card is done!

I do not do any heavy gaming, only autocad 2d, IE MS word outlook powerpoint. Google earth etc etc.

I have been told a eVGA 7600GT PCI express is a good card. Not sure if it more than what i need... here in canada sells for 155$ CDN.

What would U recommend? Can someone tell me what would be a good one to buy?

How about this card, under $100, its cheap: check out newegg.com and browse the different models of the 6600.

NVidia : Geforce 6600, 256MB ram, PCIe

try looking for the 6600 (not GT), that should get you around a $100 or less

actaully I just bought a 6200-256 on newegg for $50ish, that would probably be more than enough really to be honest. No gaming and by that i mean not latest greatest 3D eye candy intensive stuff, a 6200 would be fine, it would even run Acad 3d solid modeling, with small models (not large files) before orbits and zooms etc would get a might choppy.

For no gaming... Buy a 7300 or 7600gs for under $100 - and you'll also get a DVI port for better video output for LCDs (If it has a DVI port). Some 5200/5500 have DVI ports as well.

thx for all your input. I just came back from the computer shop. He installed a new PCI-Express card. I bought the eVGA 7300 for 91+ tax (cdn) came to 103$. I ran the Fresh diagnose Display benchmark on the PC, and it went thru. My Outlook text after I start scrolling is also looking good.

thks again.

problem resolved
