Here's the story:
Last month this guy was telling me that his machine was trying to boot from DHCP and wouldn't boot into windows. So I go check it out...it boots fine, I ignore the problem as if it was a 1d10t error. Ok, last week he comes up to me again, so I check it out, the PC was trying to boot from a DHCP server?!?!? It would not boot into windows. I pop in the WIN98 cd...try to get in through dos prompt, here's the error:
"vfat device initialization failed device or resorce required by vfat is not present or not available
System Halted"
So I reinstall Windows...It works for about a week, then, same error. When ever I encounter this VFAT issue, 3 times in the last year "2004" I format/fdisk/reinstall with success....is this the only way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
