I am trying to make a program that will read and write info to and from a server. I am not sure on what command to use and how to do it. It is a program that I want to mae for work so that I can get users info and update it when needed. If anyone has some kind of an example that I could look at that would be greatly appreciated. Also if someone has an idea on how to do that please let me know.

Thanks

Ted:

You need to be more precise in your question. What specific information do you need to read/write and from what. If you are asking about NT group and user information that is one thing, if performance monitoring that is another and so on. All things are possible (well nearly and some of them are really easy) just let us know more accurately what it is you want to do and I am sure that we can help.

Well what I want to do is pull a users info off of a file and then be able to update that info without using and webbrowsers. This is on unix system. Basically I want to call a username (ie, test) then it pulls up the info for user "test". Like name, address, phone number, and account info. All I really need to do is figure out how to call that info and then write back to it. Once I figure that out I can get the rest of it from there!

Thanks for any help!
