Variable VVV not working on Windows 10

I have Variable VVV installed and successfully creating the new site directory and database, however it is not creating the htdocs file which would include the actual Wordpress install so of course I get a 404 nginx error. I have been working at this problem now for a couple of days with no luck. I have found exactly one other person online reporting this same problem and no solutions. I sent an email to bradp, the creator of the Variable VVV script several days ago with no reply.

I am rather desperate to get this working but out of ideas myself.

I have installed VirtualBox 5.1.x , Vagrant 1.8.x as well as the vagrant-hostsupdater and vagrant-triggers plugins, all as according to the instructions here: https://github.com/Varying-Vagrant-Vagrants/VVV

If you have successfully installed Variable VVV on windows 10 I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
