I have a user who has Windows XP on her PC which is connected to a network. There is an application on one of the mapped drives that runs from the mapped drive not on the local machine. The problem is when she attempts to run the program she receives an error message “User does not have access to program”. She does have rights to run this program and is able to do so when she logs into any other PC on the network. If someone else logs onto her system they are able to run the program under their login. This leads me to believe it has something to do with her user profile on her system. I have deleted her profile under Documents and Settings, I removed it through the Control Panel, I have even replace the ntuser.dat file in her profile with the one in the repair directory. None of this has helped.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Howdy Bluzman...

There is also a key in the registry that will sometimes corrupt...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Currentversion\Profilelist

You will need to find the user name ( it will be in the right panel in the value ProfileImagePath ) in a subkey that looks something like this S-1-5-21-484763869-507921405-842925246-1006 in the left panel and delete it along with the profile in Documents and settings...

Good Morning Jedi Master,

Thanks for the suggestion. I removed the profile, deleted the registry key, then logged in as the user to create a new profile but still get the same error message.

Thanks again for the try.
