I am experiencing this error message when I open MS frontpage 2002. None of the other MS office products are affected.

frtpage has caused an error in USER.EXE.
frtpage will now close.

If you continue to experience problems,
try restarting your computer.

It basically kills my system and I have to shut it down. I am running win/ME. I have norton anti-virus and firewall sw and lava ad-aware running and both show clean results.

I have also started FP and it took me to a safe start and a repair screen - to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I am running ME, I didn't think sfc works in me?

I ran scanreg - it is without errors.
I tried rix and uninstall/reinstall with frontpage - to no avail.

Any thoughts?

Not a FrontPage user myself and cannot find much coverage of that error, except for this suggestion:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&newwindow=1&th=359cd2d378e209ae&rnum=2

It's also a little odd there are few hits for "frtpage"

Also if this error is only happening in Front Page, we might want to move you to All other Software.

"some" user.exe errors are caused by resource conflicts. To rule this out with a one time test, try "clean booting" ME:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q267288

You also have the option of trying a System Restore in WinME to return to a period before the error.
