Ok i just built a new computer, tryin to install my printer and drivers for it but cant happen, the printer cannot be found when plugged into USB ports, nothin comes up(not even the lil bubble for New hardware found) so i need some help tryin to figure out why my USB ports wont work, ive tried to get new drivers and nothign seems to help....anyone?

It would help to know what type of printer you're attempting to install, as well as the OS you're using, etc.

Also, most of the newer USB printers require that you use their installer, and only connecting the USB cable when it prompts you to do so.

i am tryin to install hp deskjet 5150 in windows xp home edition, i cant even get the computer to aknowledge that a printer is hooked up to USB, the problem lays in the USB, my mouse that is USB doesnt work either, so i dont know what to do about USB!! :mad:

Double check your Bios settings, I am assuming your using the back side USB ports. There are no XP USB drivers from ASUS so they are on the XP setup disk, therefore that should not be the problem.

If you had not done so, do a windows update and install SP1, which includes the updated USB 2.0 drivers.

Also see if there are USB Host controlers listed on your motherboard cd, if so, do an install from there.

OMG its FIXED, i looked at the MOBO and one of the USB plugs was plugged in wrong, with one cord not supposed to be plugged in so i guess it jammed up the rest, anyways thanks for the help guys :D
