Hi troops,

Trying to stream video from a SONY TV140 Digicam 8mm to
a Win98SE machine. M-board is recent and has 2.0 USB.
The 1.1 USB driver for the camera won't work on this
machine, even after disabling the 2.0 USB port.

AMD 2200+ CPU
512 Meg RAM
20 Gig Drive (Running Win98 + XP pro)
gForce nVidia 4400 - 64 Meg video

Microsoft told me they had no fix when I tried it in XP. They
returned the $35 after giving up.
SONY has a driver for XP, but it didn't work.
Firewire is not supported by SONY.....
I have the software to stream, it just won't go, message
reads "Unrecognized USB Driver".

Any ideas ? - I'm fresh out.

Thanks to All,

-dogbonz

I responded to you question here:

http://forums.techguy.org/t213221/s.html

but now that I found this thread, there could be other problems. I went to the Sony website and they don't recognize that model number. There ARE USB drivers for both Win98Se and Win Xp for your type of camera. You might try my advice from the other thread (omitting the Firewire idea) and see if that helps.
