I have a set of Plantronics GamePro 1 headphones with a usb cord. They have worked fine for months until recently they've stopped working. I haven't made any software changes to the computer the day or day before they stopped working right. The sound is distorted & echoes. I ordered another set of the same headphones & they are distorted also, but both work fine in my laptop or other computers. The regular computer speakers work fine, despite a faint ticking noise which has been there longer than the problem has. Here is what I've tried so far after searching countless websites:

-Updated all sound card & video card drivers using driveragent.com
-Installed a secondary usb drive
-Unplugged speakers
-Installed Plantronics PerSono Application
-Contacted Plantronics Customer Support (they were no help & they gave up quickly)
-Made sure mike volume was turned down
-Checked all sound settings
-Tried a usb extension cord with the headphones

Any other suggestions that I might try? I don't think the sound card is bad since it works fine with the speakers. I read that a usb headset acts as a 2nd video card & I've updated those USB sound drivers. Thanks for your time.
