usb drive

I have a buffalo 128mb drive, I am using Win XP pro. I can see the drive when I
plug in the device but cannot access the drive? It continually ask me to format the drive, I have tried this and it will not format. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Right click on My Computer, Manage, Disk Management. On the left hand side of the drive graphical display for the Buffalo drive, right click and select Initialize. Then you can right click on the unallocated space and partition and format the drive.
