Yet another thread on "USB can run faster". :D I have searched the forums and didn't manage to find one that would help me.

I have recently re-formatted our computer. I have Windows XP SP2 installed on a Dell Dimension 4500. Windows is up-to date. I have a Micro SD Card and USB 2.0 Card Reader. When I put it in any of the USB ports (Not sure that that is what they are called) it gives me the this device can run faster message. It didn't do this before re-formatting the computer and it is slower than it used to be. Any driver installing or updating that was done last time would have been done by my brother but he can't help. (Probably could if he was sitting at the computer)

So can anyone help me to make it run faster? It is a pain in the backside at the moment.

the 4500 had the slower usb and you're putting a faster usb in the slot.

get a 2.0 pci usb card if you have an extra pci slot.
