Greetings to all. I have a USB question.

My current notebook is 5 years old and is configured for USB 1.1. I will probably be buying a new PC in the near future, which will certainly have USB 2.0. My question is:
Can I purchase a USB 2.0 hub now, and use it on my current notebook?|

Yes you can but it will only run at USB 1.1 speeds.

USB is forward and backward compatible; the only difference from a users perspective is speed - 12Mb/s versus 480Mb/s.

You can also buy an inexpensive USB 2.0 PCMCIA card for your machine and have USB 2.0 speeds now.
