Has there ever been a prosecution in the US where a citizen was charged with possesing an illegal copy of a DVD or CD?
Once in a great while, you will hear about the bootleg-movie distributor getting charged with selling burnt DVDs, or a legal battle with the makers of burning software, but what about the average consumer who illegally burns a rented movie or a friend's cd for personal use?

Have cases like these ever been prosecuted before in the USA, or is this just the next step after recording a movie off cable TV onto a VHS?

Do you think that digital piracy will become a major issue for Amierica in the near future, or is it simply a natural part of technology that can't be regulated?
