I am planning to upgrade my PC with a new motherboard and AMD processor.

A simple question, will I lose any of my data on my hard drives?

Will I have to re-install Windows XP?

usually find you have to reinstall xp because the m/b drivers will cause a conflict and stop boot up.
save what is important before you start.
you may get away with a repair afterwards if you are lucky but is best to do a clean install

You will need a clean install if you want to avoid problems. One thing you can do, assuming you have more than one hard drive, is to move the data to the other drive ( the drive without the operating system). Then you can format and install windows and your other programs on the master drive without losing the data. All the programs will have reinstalled.

Thanks guys.

I'm planning on getting the AMD ATH XP3200+ (socket A) 400fsb and the SUS A7N8X-E Deluxe GD SL/L/S-ATA/R motherboard.

I have split my hard-drive into C, D, F and G, so I could copy my Program Files over to the largest drive on G drive.

Is that all I need to do???
