Rename your normal.dot file to normal.old and/or see if there's any files in the Startup folder under the MS Office folders. Probably c:\program files\microsoft office\startup...or somewhere right around there. Remove them, at least temporarily, to see if it helps.
You may lose the ability to use "Send to" to send a fax tho. I'm not sure. I don't know/use winfax, so I'm not positive if you need the code in the Startup/normal.dot, but I doubt it.
