I have upgraded from Me to XP pro on my 3 comuters. One of them does not allow me to access "Help & Support". Also if I right click on the desktop then click on properties nothing happens. I have reinstalled the upgrade several times to no avail. Can I uninstall XP and start over?

If you save the old system files [and you did not convert to ntfs] then you should be able to uninstall xp from add / remove programs in control panel.

Now upgrades from win9x to nt based os do not generally work well. I would backup anything you want to save and do a clean install of xp; not an upgrade. You will have a more stable, smoother running system. If you have an upgrade disk and not a full version, you can still do a clean install of xp. During the install, setup will ask for your qualifying product. You will insert your me cd and setup will check it and continue. Note it will not work with a recovery disk that comes with most store bought computers; it must be a full version of ME.

If you did convert to ntfs, then you will need to run fdisk and delete your non-dos partition. You will then recreat one or more partition and format then install ME. If you have logical ntfs drives that reside in an extended partition, fdisk cannot remove those. You will need to zero fill the disk or a low level format.

Thanks! I ordered an oem copy of XP pro. I'll try to take all my data files to CDs and then start over. I was unable to uninstall from " add or delete programs". I wish there was a simpler way to solve this problem.
