I am running Vista Basic and I wanted to uninstall Opera. When I try to do that it says I don't have permission and to contact the "Administrator". I am the administrator ..... how do I go about doing this? Thank you!

I can't imagine why that would happen if you are logged in as administrator -- but two things you can try

1 > bootup in Safe Mode and choose your Administrative account from there.

2 > reinstall or update Opera from your normal account and try again.

and possibly 3, if you had just recently installed Opera -- just do a "system restore" to a prior date (run: rstrui.exe

This sounds like a User Account Control problem. To disable UAC, go to Control Panel/User Accounts, and then select "Turn User Account Control On/Off." Reboot your computer.

See if that helps.
